Lower Danube
The second AVIS pilot is expected to take place on the Lower Danube, between May 4 and May 8, 2026!

In Romania, the Danube covers a distance of 1,075 km, representing the longest segment that lies within a single state.
The primary route selected for the pilot covers the Danube-Black Sea Canal from Constanta (Agigea) to Cernavoda (~65km), including two navigational locks and nine bridges.
An optional extension is considered on the Poarta Alba-Midia-Navodari canal (~27km), starting from the canal junction and ending near Midia Port.
The pilot will be conducted using one of the hydrographic launches OCEAN 1 or OCEAN 2, operated by the Romanian Maritime Hydrographic Directorate
